This morning, in brilliant sunshine, it was great to see butterflies taking to the wing. These were seen quite early on:
Two Brimstone, two Small Tortoiseshell and a Peacock. AE.

Saw Alan Edge as he left the site about 10.40. -1315 highlights:-
1 male blackcap, sedge warbler singing by the seat on the causeway, cettis Warbler calling on both sides of deep pit (same bird?), 19 shoveler, 17 Gadwall,4 male teal on slurry lagoon, 1 pair goldeneye on deep pit, 20 plus sand martin on river investigating holes, 4 Oyster catcher on tern platforms.
Brimstone most common butterfly, 6 sightings, 4 peacock, two small tortoishell.
One large toad crawling in grass alongside east slurry path.
