A Green Sandpiper was again feeding in the shallow water in front of the reeds on the extreme left of the Slurry Lagoon and a single Black-tailed Godwit was sleeping among the roosting ducks.  Again about 600 Lesser Black-backed Gulls were divided between the wet and dry ends of the Slurry. The Green Sandpiper was heard calling early in the afternoon as it left the Slurry Lagoon. Later there were five Black-tailed Godwits feeding and resting on the Slurry Lagoon, in the shallow water. The Slurry Lagoon was a hive of activity this afternoon with young ducks, grebes and coots with their parents across almost the whole of its surface. At the back with some Lapwings were two Black-tailed Godwit and a fairly good roost of Lesser Black-backed and Black-headed Gulls, PS. [...]

Mediterranean Gull – 30th June

An adult Med Gull was preening for some time on the Slurry Lagoon late afternoon.  Also present was a Black-tailed Godwit and a Green Sandpiper plus an adult Little Ringed Plover.  The Gadwall reported the other day with eleven ducklings has increased her brood to an incredible fourteen! This morning two Green Sandpipers and three Little Egrets were on the Slurry Lagoon. There was also a Brown Hawker and thirty Six-belted Clearwings. RW. Later in the afternoon a Black-tailed Godwit arrived on the Slurry Lagoon. RW. [...]

A Black-tailed Godwit circled the Slurry Lagoon this evening, but I think the water was too deep for it and it disappeared towards Colwick. The Cetti’s Warbler was singing in the Deep Pit, the Shelduck was still on the Slurry Lagoon and a flock of about eighty Greenfinches came in to roost at the back [...] [...]
