This morning there was a juvenile Little Ringed Plover on the Slurry Lagoon. There were still eight Red-crested Pochard and the Gadwall had all eleven ducklings and the Mallard still had her five. There were good numbers of Small Skippers about and two Black-tailed Skimmers and one Four-spotted Chaser with some Red-eyed Damselflies on the [...] [...]

This morning up to six Water Rail were heard or seen around the site. A Peregrine flew over and a Cetti’s Warbler was heard calling near the Small Gravel Pit. DM. This afternoon a Willow Tit was seen near the Irish Bridge, AE, and a Merlin flew over towards Colwick, PS, DM. [...] This morning as we walked along the Lower Path four Jays sneaked into the canopy of the ash trees while a a Buzzard called overhead. There were several immature Reed Warblers, Sedge Warblers, Blackcaps and Whitethroats and a Lesser Whitethroat and Willow Tit in the bushes between the path and the railway line. Near to [...] [...] A Roesel’s Bush Cricket was found today, also a Small Red-eyed Damselfly and Emerald Damselfly on the Small Gravel Pit. On the Slurry Lagoon was one Greenshank and two Green Sandpipers and a Peregrine was also seen. RW. [...] A Cetti’s Warbler was singing in the south-east corner of the Slurry Lagoon this evening. Several Water Rail were calling and one Shelduck was still present. On the Small Gravel Pit one Coot has decided spring has arrived and is sitting on a nest. PS. [...] A Clouded Yellow was seen today, flying along the Deep Pit bank, opposite the railway line. Two Small Red-eyed Damselflies were present on the Small Gravel Pit and a Green Sandpiper was seen on the Slurry Lagoon, as well as two Yellow-legged Gulls, a Common Snipe and three Shoveler.
